Pothole Repair in a bag
Until recently hot asphalt was the only way to repair potholes and damaged roads. Cold Asphalt has changed that. Through the introduction of new polymer technology and research, in 2008, we have developed a high-quality, polymer-modified cold mix asphalt that we believe is one of the best in the world.
Our Bitumend Cold Asphalt is soft and sticky out of the bag, but after pressure is applied, it quickly hardens and the end result is a patch with better strength but similar properties to hot asphalt. We sell Bitumend Cold Asphalt to builders, road repair contractors, business owners, and do-it-yourself homeowners.
Step by Step Guide

Step 1 - Clean
Clean the hole of any debris and remove any looses pieces around the hole(and if possible give yourself a vertical edge around the hole for the Bitumend Coldmix to butt up against - it lengthens the life of the repair)

Step 2 - Fill
Fill the hole with Bitumend Coldmix. Form a crown by making the middle slightly higher than the sides. Depending on the size of the repair give yourself a 5-10cm crown. This counteracts the subsidence caused by compacting

Step 1 - Compact
Compact - A compactor is recommended for larger holes. Otherwise driving back and forth over it in a vehicle(e.g 4x4) is also very effective. You can also use timber posts to compact the cold mix on smaller holes.(Recommend throwing some dust or sand over the coldmix to stop it from sticking to the tyres or compactor.)
